Why not come call or play music at one of our dances?
Portland Intown Contra Dance books talent from Maine and across North America. We host an average of 120 dancers per weekly event, with around 20% being new dancers. We pay a flat fee per artist, can offer housing and a travel stipend, and can often help artists plan tours in Maine and New England.
What can you expect if you come visit? We’ll cherish you and want you to feel like you're a part of our local community — and you will be by the end of the night! You'll have a delightful time having dinner at an awesome nearby restaurant, have an easy time setting up, have a rad evening performing for people who really appreciate you, and then end your evening with some gelato at an after-party or by simply settling into a cozy bed at a local host's place.
